This is the underside of a leaf that I found in my town's Bird Sanctuary. I really liked that pattern and color that it had and decided to zoom in to only focus on that. I feel like this picture focuses on form and line and it really distorts the object.
I took this in my local supermarket. In class we were shown an artist that made things look abstract by standing farther away from it. One example of this was shelves in a supermarket. I decided to try this idea/concept out to see how it would look.
I was in my kitchen last night getting a little "midnight snack" last night and started to go through utensils and other tools around the counter. I found this cheese grater and I really liked the texture to it. It also had repetition and an interesting surface that I though would've looked like a really interesting abstract picture. I set a light on it and played with the white balance to get that orange/reddish hue.
This is the same cheese grater as the one before. I was holding the light and trying to take pictures at the same time and noticed that when my camera was unfocused, it created this cool diamond shape pattern on the grater. It looked so pretty and it reminded me of twinkling lights that you'd find on a Christmas tree.
These are bleachers at my high school. I was driving around town trying to get ideas of what to take for this assignment and as I drove by my school, the bleachers caught my eye. I thought that it would be a good subject to use because it had a lot of repetition and the lines that it had/created added to the form that I thought would be good for abstraction.
